Ink and Insight: My Experience in Full Sail's Professional Writing Course

My experience in the professional writing class in the online Full Sail course has been great. I want to thank my professor, Heather Startup, for understanding my busy schedule and giving me the extensions I needed to take the X Element Esports team that I currently manage to the Midwest Fest in Kansas City at the beginning of this class. These extensions made this easier to manage and made many dreams a reality.

Sometimes, we don't understand where the path we start on will lead us, and in this case, going to the Midwest Fest with the X-Element team opened doors and conversations that would not have been possible without this opportunity. I am bringing this matter up because it crossed over into my professional writing, as I was inspired by one of the conversations I had with a team captain about doing a jersey collaboration with a local baseball team.

This led me to discuss my professional writing class assignment, which I'm particularly proud of working on. Before diving deeper into this topic, it's remarkable how circumstances aligned, sparked by discussions at the Midwest Fest, leading to the need to write a proposal. Writing a proposal was a requirement for the professional writing course, and I'm exceedingly proud of the work I accomplished in the course.

One skill I will take away from my professional writing course is organized writing, as it's crucial to convey your message clearly to the individual you're sending your message

to. Organizational writing skills can also translate into my experience here at X Element in the content I write to sponsors and partners on behalf of X Element.

My biggest takeaway from the advice I received is from my professor, Heather Startup. She often emphasized that writing tone is the key to portraying your message successfully to the person you're sending it to. If I can identify the correct tone in writing before sending a message, it will be received with a clear understanding of what I am trying to convey.

Overall, this course has taught me that professional writing is not just important but essential to successfully conveying your message to the person you're sending it to. It's critical to understand your writing tone, whether business or casual, as you will send many messages in your business career. Also, organizational skills in writing are critical to portray your message correctly to the reader. I highly recommend this class to anyone who is thinking of going to Full Sail University. It has greatly helped my business career and will help me in the future. If you have any questions about what it's like to attend Full Sail, feel free to message me through my website, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
